All below will be at the Carter Community Building (Old CCB across from senior center) in Lebanon, NH
*****Sat August 16th: Potluck Workshops with Alia!
Pot luck workshops: technique, combinations, structure, improvisation & fun with the fantabulous Alia Thabit! (www.earth-goddess.com)
10:30-12:00 Open to all levels
12:15-1:45 Intermediate/Advanced
$20 each, or take both for $35
*****Sat Sept 6th-Creating Your Own Dance
11a.m.-1:00 Creating Your Own Dance: So you’ve been paying a ton for your love of the dance, taking workshops and acquiring shiny objects. Now is your chance to learn the basics of creating choreography and improvisation technique. Bring paper and a song you’d like to work on! You will get individual attention! $25
1:30-3:30 Cane Basics: You see people walk with them, but what is this about dancing with them? What the heck is a Saidi or Beledi? This workshop will show you the basics and then we will apply them in a fun, upbeat choreo! $25
*****TBA-Accenting your Dance (2 Hours) & Wings of Isis-(2 Hours)
10:00-12:00 Accenting Your Dance: Pops, locks, and bumps? Sounds dangerous! We all know how to use a hip or chest movement as an accent, but there are hundreds of other types of accents! We’ll go through a few and apply them in short combinations! $25
12:15-2:15 Wings of Isis: You’ve seen them online or in action, but how the heck do you use these things? Wings of Isis are a great prop and are actually very easy to use. We’ll learn some tricks and apply them in a short choreo! Bring your own wings, will have a few pairs to loan. $25
